The upshot: Nau plans to re-open for business this October. For the most part, the brand and products will remain unchanged. Their plan is to continue to “source materials and produce garments in the most environmentally benign ways possible” and donate an “industry-leading” percentage of their profits to charitable causes. And while Replica Cartier watches they’ll still sell their wares on their website, moving forward, they’ll no longer operate their own retail stores. However, if you live near an especially hip or cool or locally-owned outdoorsy clothing shop, you might be able to find Nau products there, too, as they are starting to partner with a few select retailers.
(If you crave more details about Naus rebirth, check out this article on Treehugger or this Q and A with Horny Toads CEO Gordon Seabury on Naus blog.) The reaction here at the magazine to Nau’s return could generally be summarized as… all right! We like both the way they go about doing business, and, of course, the clothing they make. The Replica Omega watches photos here are from their pared-down Fall/Winter collection, which will be available in a few weeks. About a month ago I got a sneak peak of their expanded Spring/Summer line at the Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City, and it’s some of the best stuff yet I’ve seen from them. We’ll be field-testing clothing from both lines in the near future, so stay tuned for actual reviews. —Sam Moulton
Last night, according to Backbone Medias blog, my buddy Len Zanni, the co-owner of Big Agnes and an absolute animal on the bike, was a bit startled to see Lance Armstrong lining up for the start of the Aspen Cycling Club’s final mountain bike race of the season. Apparently, Lance has been training in the area for the past several weeks (although rumor has it that he might also be dating a local woman), ever since he finished second in the Replica Tag Heuer watches Leadville 100, the race he’s crediting for inspiring his decision to come out of retirement. And, yes, Lance won, but not by much. He edged out Len, one of the areas strongest riders, by just 14 seconds at the finish of the ten-mile race, although, thanks to Len’s strong performance last night and all season, he still was able to claim the overall series title. (Way to go, Len.) If you’re looking for more juicy details, the Aspen Daily News has a full race report. —Sam Moulton
